British Columbia Naturopathic Association
What We Do
What We Do
The BCNA is the professional association for naturopathic physicians in BC. We act on behalf of and for the profession to promote the services provided by and the integrity and honour of the naturopathic profession.
At the BCNA, we make a meaningful difference in improving health care for British Columbians by working alongside our members to achieve quality patient care through engagement, collaboration, and naturopathic physician leadership.
Our goal is to promote a social, economic, and political climate in which members can provide the citizens of British Columbia with the highest standard of naturopathic health care, while achieving maximum professional satisfaction and fair primary care options.
With the help of our president and board, we help make sure the voices of naturopathic doctors are heard by government, health authorities, media, and the public. We pride ourselves on continuing to advocate for a fair health care system for all residents of British Columbia.
We are linked to the national naturopathic association, the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors. We support the annual national proactive health event, Naturopathic Medicine Week, during the first week of May.
The BCNA advances naturopathic medicine in British Columbia. We conduct business which results in success for our members.
The BCNA vision is to promote naturopathic medicine as well as improve the way health care is delivered in BC. We provide comprehensive and innovative tools to support the growth and success of our naturopathic doctors.
BCNA advances the naturopathic medical profession: we create awareness and connection amongst naturopathic physicians, work with internal and external stakeholders (especially government and industry leaders). The BCNA is a team of licensed naturopathic physicians and skilled administrative staff with a commitment to enable members to create and maintain professional success.
The BCNA has a vested interest in advancing naturopathic medicine by acting as a credible unified voice for the profession, providing access to tools and resources to advance the clinical skills and business success of its members.
The Board of Directors is made up of naturopathic physicians democratically elected by members of the BCNA. Directors set the strategic goals and priorities to meet the association’s mission.
The Board makes key decisions on behalf of the members to advance the interests of the naturopathic profession, and to promote positive change in our health care system – benefiting naturopathic doctors and their patients.
