How do you help patients transition from the end of active cancer treatment to cancer survivorship? 1 in 2 Canadians will have a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime, and those diagnosed with cancer are living longer. As many healthcare providers do not provide appropriate long-term post-cancer surveillance and late-treatment-effect care, patients can feel confused and afraid of recurrence. Practitioners need to understand the unique role that Naturopathic Doctors can play in this crucial but under-appreciated phase of care.
Join an ND who is both clinically focused on adjunctive cancer care, and herself a cancer survivor, Dr. Martha Sharpe, ND. She will discuss specific obstacles, needs, gaps, opportunities, and the most common late effects in cancer survivorship, focusing on those with no evidence of disease after active cancer treatment. Learn how to create proactive individualized cancer survivorship care plans, and enhance the health and wellbeing of patients with a history of cancer.
