NCLS Course (Naturopathic Cardiac Life Support) Comments
Introducing NCLS for Natropathic Doctors (ND) who wants an alternative to the standard Advance Cardiac Life Support Course.
Naturopathic Cardiac Life Support is a course specifically designed to cover many of the typical emergency procedures required in an ND’s clinic. Unlike ACLS, it is less focused on the routines required by EMTs and paramedics, and more focused on practical steps required by doctors on an everyday basis. The foundation of the course is from the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers course. At the end of the course you will receive a Certificate of Completion (sanctioned by the BCNA) and a BLS Certificate.
Emergency medical training is mandatory under rules set by the regulatory college for registrants with advanced certifications. As advised from BCNA, all ND's have the option of taking ACLS or NCLS, whichever is more convenient for the ND to meet the standard from BCNA. But NDs should be aware that ACLS recertification is not available to NDs anymore. If an ND opt to take ACLS instead of NCLS, he/she will need to enroll in the two-day course, even if you have taken ACLS in the past.
