Dr O’Neill’s ability to truly listen is one of the things people notice first. Dr. Deirdre has a firm belief that our symptoms are part of the whole. Through listening comes the whole story, where she can uncover the areas that need focus to bring the body back into balance and wellness.

She grew up in a medical family and always had her sights on pediatric care. As she was deciding on a career, she discovered naturopathic medicine as she began to understand the wisdom of its approach by putting diet, lifestyle and the things that you do on a daily basis as the foundation for health over disease. This wisdom has stuck and led her to emphasize in education and prevention with her patients’ treatments.

Although she was trained as a family practice doctor to treat all conditions, she has found a passion in treating & focusing her knowledge in the following key areas:

Hormones
(thyroid, pms, menopause, adrenal, reproductive & fertility)

Children
(allergies, asthma, eczema, well child exams, vaccine information)

Sports & Orthopedic Medicine
(prolotherapy, platelet rich plasma)

Environmental Medicine
(chelation, lyme disease)

Dr Deirdre is passionate about helping people get back to doing what they love by improving their health. Many patients she sees are unable to fuel their passions due to lack of energy or being in too much pain. Her treatment approach always has her patient’s goals in mind, by helping them to reach their potential.

In 2003, Dr O’Neill graduated from Bastyr University, world renowned for its strong training in scientific natural based medicine. She holds board certifications in Prolotherapy, Chelation, IV Therapy and Prescriptive Authority. She is an active member with the BC Naturopathic Association and the Pediatric Association of Naturopathic Doctors.

As a doctor at Sage Clinic, she has found that her patients benefit from the experience of a warming and attractive clinic. She enjoys the collaborative approach to medicine offered by this group of skilled and passionate naturopathic doctors.

When Dr Deirdre is not with patients or learning new skills, she can be found out in nature. Dr Deirdre is an avid skier and hiker. She loves to read and has found a new interest in baking yummy gluten free foods for her family. She enjoys playing and relaxing with her husband and 3 year old son, Taidhg.

Dr Deirdre is available for seeing patients Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 10am to 6pm.
