In her family practice at Burnaby Heights Integrated Health Clinic, Dr. Matusik focuses on assisting her patients in achieving optimal health by addressing the underlying cause that contributes to disease.  She provides a patient centered approach to health by utilizing naturopathic modalities to form comprehensive, individualized treatment plans.   In addition, she has specialized training in intravenous therapy and has trained and worked as a doula.   

 

Dr.  Matusik treats people of all ages and addresses both chronic and acute conditions. Some conditions that can be addressed include:

Health assessment involves a detailed health history, physical exam and lab testing when appropriate. Lab testing is utilized to assess:

·         adrenal gland function

·         female or male salivary hormone levels

·         gastrointestinal function

·         possible food allergies and sensitivities

·         heavy metal burden

·         diseases of environmental origin

 Treatment may involve a combination of therapies, including:

·         nutritional therapy

·         dietary counselling

·         detoxification

·         botanical medicine

·         homeopathy

·         acupuncture

·         intravenous therapies - vitamins and mineral

·         chelation therapy

·         injection therapy

·         lifestyle counseling

Dr. Agnieszka Matusik, BSc, ND completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at Trent University.  She then earned her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine designation at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto.

ND:   Naturopathic Doctor (in BC, in order to practice as an ND, the doctor must have completed at least 3-years pre-medical training-most doctors complete a bachelor's degree, 4-years full-time medical training at an accredited naturopathic medical college, and the completion of provincial board exams prior to being granted licencure. NDs in BC are licenced and regulated by the College of Naturopathic Physicians.)
DC:   Doctor of Chiropractic. Indicates this naturopathic doctor previously achieved a recognized degree to practice as a chiropractor.
DHANP:   Diplomate in the Homeopathic Association of Naturopathic Physicians. An additional degree focused on classical homeopathy.
MSAOM:   Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine. An additional degree focused on Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM.
RM:   Registered Midwife. Indicates that this naturopathic doctor holds a valid licence as a midwife in BC.
