Dr. Karen Parmar (BSc, ND)

 Dr. Karen Parmar is co-owner of the Integrated Health Clinic with her husband Dr. Gurdev Parmar.  Dr. Parmar plays an integral role in the breadth and depth of clinical services offered by the clinic and works passionately to ensure patients receive cutting-edge medical programs, services and modalities.  Dr. Parmar is a big proponent of training and regularly sends her Associate Practitioners and staff out of town to learn progressive techniques in complementary care.

Winner of the "Woman of the Year" Award 2008, Dr. Parmar is well recognized within the Greater Vancouver area for her outstanding leading example as a role model for women and her incredible contributions to family life with highly successful and medically recognized Infertility treatments. 

Dr. Parmar is the only Naturopathic Physician member of the Pacific Center for Reproductive Medicine and she works closely with this world-acclaimed center treating couples who are experiencing fertility issues.

Dr. Parmar specializes in women's and children's health and a large majority of her patients start with fertility treatment, continue through pregnancy to become pediatric patients with their children.  Dr. Parmar is also accomplished in mid-life women's health and is certified in bio-identical hormone balancing through the International Hormone Society.

Dr. Parmar loves what she does for a living and feels blessed to have found her calling as a physician.  In her spare time, Dr. Parmar is an avid horsewoman and Bikram yoga enthusiast and a busy mom to Seth and Devan.

ND:   Naturopathic Doctor (in BC, in order to practice as an ND, the doctor must have completed at least 3-years pre-medical training-most doctors complete a bachelor's degree, 4-years full-time medical training at an accredited naturopathic medical college, and the completion of provincial board exams prior to being granted licencure. NDs in BC are licenced and regulated by the College of Naturopathic Physicians.)
DC:   Doctor of Chiropractic. Indicates this naturopathic doctor previously achieved a recognized degree to practice as a chiropractor.
DHANP:   Diplomate in the Homeopathic Association of Naturopathic Physicians. An additional degree focused on classical homeopathy.
MSAOM:   Masters of Science in Oriental Medicine. An additional degree focused on Traditional Chinese Medicine or TCM.
