Dr. Pitfield is passionate about helping patients heal and achieve balance in their lives by addressing the underlying cause of disease. She has found through her practice that the most effective health care is the combination of modern medicine with traditional healing methods. Along with a complete physical exam, family history and relevant lab work, Dr. Pitfield uses nutrition, herbal medicine, acupuncture, homeopathy and lifestyle counselling to help her patients achieve optimal health and wellness.
Dr. Pitfield now practices in Vancouver at the Finlandia Health Clinic with a focus in family medicine. She treats men, women and children with a variety of conditions including hormonal imbalances (PMS, menopause, fertility, thyroid imbalances, diabetes), gastrointestinal and genitourinary conditions (IBS, Crohn’s, prostatitis, interstitial cystitis), autoimmune conditions (rheumatoid arthritis, MS, fibromyalgia) and nervous system imbalances (depression, anxiety and insomnia).
Dr. Pitfield received her undergraduate degree from the University of Victoria and a Doctorate from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in New Westminster. In addition to her experience as naturopathic doctor and her training in Chinese Medicine, Dr. Pitfield has specialized training in intravenous therapy, she is certified as a Bowen therapist and is licensed to deliver pharmaceutical care.
Dr. Pitfield is a registrant of the College of Naturopathic Physicians of BC and a member of the BC Naturopathic Association, the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and and the Pediatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians. She is active in the College of Naturopathic Physicians with her roles in the inquiry committee, scope of practice committee and examinations committee. She is also contributes her time as an instructor at the naturopathic medical college in New Westminster teaching classes and supervising at the student medical clinic.
